Let’s Bounce Back Stronger

  • Establish a COVID Recovery Strategy:  Devise a LUU recovery plan for all students and societies that secures vital services. Putting your needs first!
  • Redevelop LUU Online:  Improve website to give you accessible advice on  mental health, society support, housing, sustainability, study space, and rent rebate updates.

  • Support Student-based Businesses:  Offer resources, advice, and training to student start-ups. Whether this was a lockdown hobby, a new idea, or a life-long passion.
  • Showcase Student Talent:  Physical and virtual platforms for student enterprise. From art to music, second-hand clothing to cakes, so students can support each another!

  • Act on the Climate Emergency:  Lobby the University to declare a climate emergency! Demand transparency on University investments and environmental impact. Establish sustainability modules with every school to expand cross-discipline research .
  • Eco-conscious Union:  Develop a plan to reduce LUU footprint to net-zero with sustainable energy suppliers, plastic-free union, and with sustainable business fairs and Fresher's Week.

  • End Compromises to Education:  Hold lecturers to account with a new online complaints facility. Report issues immediately, from substandard teaching to poor assignment feedback!
  • Listen to Students:  Platform for students to raise their biggest concerns with the University AND Union. From student petitions to national campaigns. Each proposition will get LUU support to draft a solution, ensuring action is taken!

About Me:

Hi! I am a final year PPE student, an Eddy B regular, and a self-confessed flare-wearing Leeds girl. I volunteer for the University sustainability team and sit on the Sustainability Advisory Board as an LUU Community Rep. Therefore, I have first-hand experience of tackling the climate crisis at the University.

Importantly, I love Leeds. I want to stand up against poor reactionary responses from the University so you can bounce back stronger and love your university experience!
