EVERY STUDENT DESERVES TO FEEL SUPPORTED

MENTAL HEALTH FIRST AID TRAINING

Personal tutors and module leaders are our first call of response. As a mental health - health care assistant I know they need more support to support you. This is why I will ensure all module leaders and personal tutors are mental health first aid trained.

WELL-BEING TRAINING FOR SOCIETIES
It is sometimes easier to talk to a friend. By having your society committee members well-being trained, you will have someone close to you to go for sound and practical advice.

TIMETABLED SUPPORT SEMINARS

Every student deserves to feel supported at Leeds. They deserve to know: where support is, how to access support and why asking for support is never taboo. I want time tabled support seminars at the beginning of each term to confirm to students we are prioritising their mental, physical and sexual health.

COVID (SECURE!) SUPPORT PLAN

  1. Empathetic response by university to all pandemic concerns

  2. Safe spaces (like libraries) to remain OPEN

  3. Union to help with renting and housing concerns

  4. Mid module assessments scrapped

  5. Extensions easily provided

I want students to know that there is a plan in place both during and post-COVID.
