The LUU Constitution protects the existence of The Gryphon Newspaper. I believe that this protection should be extended to the Student Radio and Student Television.
These three societies together give the students of Leeds University a voice. They hold the University and LUU to account, raise awareness of local and national issues, and provide opportunities for student creators to develop their skills.
The LUU Constitution was written in a time when print was by far the most significant medium. LSR and LSTV have now joined the Gryphon as important student media and we believe that the constitution should reflect this.
Making these changes to the LUU Constitution will give the voice of the students of Leeds University the protection it needs going into the future.
